White Sage Nag Champa – Incense 20-30g (bundle)

White sage (Salvia apiana) is a plant that is native to the south-west of the United States. Its leaves have a distinctive silvery-white colour. Because of the intense aroma it emits, white sage was spotted hundreds of years ago by Native Americans and held in special veneration. It is the sacred herb of the Navajo Indians, who used dried sage leaves as incense during ceremonies and rituals. They would use the smouldering smoke from the lit leaves to incense the ceremony site, believing that it helped protect against evil entities, ward off spells and charms and heal the body, mind and soul. Indeed, the aromatic, fragrant smoke rising from the burning sage leaves, scented with herbs, sweet vanilla and spices, has a magical effect. It helps to cleanse the space, dismiss toxic energy and relax after a hard day. To use it like incense, simply light a bunch and extinguish the flame when the leaves start to glow.

Nag Champa is a highly aromatic fragrance composition created from the beautiful champak flowers (Magnolia champaca). These flowers play a very important role in Hinduism, where they are associated with the goddess of wealth, happiness and beauty Lakshmi. How to use the white sage incense? Brief instructions:

1. Light one end of the white sage bundle by holding it over the fire source. Wait a few seconds until the incense begins to glow.
2. Extinguish the incense by blowing out the flame or shaking the bundle vigorously. After a while,white sage will begin to smoulder with a thick, intensely fragrant smoke. As you extinguish the flame, think of an intention that will accompany the smudging ritual.
3. Cover yourself with the fragrant smoke, directing the incense from toe to head, and then cover the room, objects or people you wish to purify. When the ritual is complete, place the still glowing incense in a safe place, such as a ceramic pot. After a while the white sage bundle will extinguish itself - then you can light it again.
