Mary Rose Rooibos Pear combines the taste of fresh, Brazilian yerba mate green and delicate rooibos, with a slightly honeyed flavour note. Although rooibos is not actually a tea - it is not derived from the tea plant, Camellia sinensis - it is often put on a par with teas and is even called red tea by some. This is due to the red colouring of the rooibos leaves, which here, combined with the vibrant green of Ilex paraguariensis, make an extremely interesting, colourful composition. The juiciness of the blend is enhanced by the addition of dried fruits such as pear and apple, and the whole is rounded off with a slightly herbal note thanks to the addition of chamomile and marigold petals. The combination of yerba mate and tea has a slightly weaker stimulating effect than "full-sized" yerba mate. In addition, rooibos is renowned for being caffeine-free. Yerbatea is therefore ideal for beginner infusion enthusiasts who are not yet familiar with the stimulating power of yerba mate.

How to prepare Mary Rose Rooibos Pear yerbatea?
Just like yerba mate - using a mate gourd and a bombilla. Fill up the gourd with dry yerbatea to about 1/3 of its volume, pour in water at a maximum temperature of 80°C and drink through the bombilla. You can also brew yerbatea in the same way as regular tea - in a mug, without a bombilla, but using an infuser to filter out the rather fine fragments of dried yerbatea.
